Manufacturing
Bi 2223 precursors are manufactured by a co-precipitation process; Bi 2212 precursor is produced via our unique melt cast process. Both processes guarantee powders with homogeneous element distribution, excellent phase adjustment, sharp grain size distribution, high reactivity and excellent reproducibility.
Availability
We offer our materials in the form of both loose powders and pressed rods (see below). Batches of between 2kg and 50 kg can be quickly manufactured in our plant which has a present capacity of some 3-5 tons per year. Shipment is usually within 6 weeks of receiving an order. We also offer small quantities of our powders as special introductory prices for new customers wishing to sample the material. Our team of analytical chemists are always pleased to offer fully confidential services to customers to help match optimum precursor properties to individual manufacturing techniques.
Chemical composition
Powders of variable chemical composition are prepared to customer specification (accuracy ± 3%).
Impurities
- Cationic impurities: å < 400 ppm
- Anionic impurities
- carbon < 200 ppm
- nitrogen < 100 ppm
- hydrogen < 50 ppm
Grain Size
Optimized processing conditions result in homogeneous and finely dispersed powders. AHTS powder processes offer sharp grain size distributions with an average grain size d50< 5 µm.
