Nexans is a world leading manufacturer of subsea umbilical systems. The designs we provide, span from thermoplastic hose designs and hybrids with hoses and steel tubes in combination, to the most complex steel tube designs also including other elements like fibre optics and electrical elements. We provide umbilical systems with all the necessary steps from design, engineering and manufacture, to installation, protection and commissioning. Nexans has been and is the technology driver in the umbilical industry. This is illustrated by the introduction of the steel tube umbilical in Statoil’s Statfjord and Sleipner projects in 1993.
