Christian, Engineering Manager, Germany

PhD in Electrical engineering at University of Aachen RWTH

My education and early responsibilities:

After my PhD, I continued at university as a Project manager in High-Voltage for two years, then joined Nexans through contacts in Belgium and Germany.

Why I chose Nexans:

Although I had an offer from a very large electrical engineering company, I preferred Nexans because I knew from past experience that I would be allowed to work independently to define my own priorities and projects, discuss with a wide range of experts, and really influence decisions.

My job today:

For a year and a half, I worked on a railway infrastructure project (DuoTrack), then moved into the new engineering department which includes R&D, design and construction, and application engineering with products involving everything from shipbuilding to cranes.
