New, french standard: XP C
From March 2014 the new standards XP C were introduced for low voltage installation cables in place of NF C standards.
The new standards affect the following low voltage cable ranges:
These new standards introduce two new characteristics:
- Resistance to certain weather conditions: the new characteristics of cladding materials allow these cables to be installed directly outdoors.
- Cross section color identification for the cables of the series U-1000 R2V, cross sections 1.5mm² to 16mm².
Our U-1000 R2V ranges are already compliant with the new French standards XP C and are certified to LCIE Bureau Veritas.
In 2013, Nexans, ahead of time, has introduced the sheath color codes and launched the range under the name of DISTINGO®. The color coding has been welcomed by installers as it facilitates the storage and use of these cables.
