Application

Nexans H07V-U is intended for protected fixed electrical installations in dry locations for general power distribution circuits (excluding fire safety circuits), including:

  • Residential buildings (single-family and multi-dwelling): final circuits for lighting, socket outlets, electric heating and ventilation systems (VMC), as well as wiring of distribution boards.
  • Offices and commercial buildings: lighting and control circuits up to 1000 V AC or 750 V DC to earth.

Note

  • For installations requiring enhanced fire performance, use H07Z1-U/R/K halogen-free conductors.
  • For fire safety circuits (fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke extraction systems, etc.), use CR1-C1 cable.

Installation

Permitted laying options:

  • In free air on insulating supports, in dry locations
  • In mouldings, skirting trunking, conduits, ducts or cable trunking systems
  • In conduits (surface-mounted or concealed in dry walls)
  • Internal wiring of electrical panels, switchboards and enclosures

Not suitable for:

  • Direct outdoor installation – PVC insulation is not resistant to UV radiation or weathering
  • Damp, wet or flooded locations – moisture resistance limited to AD1 classification (protection against condensation only)
  • Direct burial without additional mechanical protection
  • Mobile applications or installations subject to repeated flexing – use H07V-K (Class 5) or H07Z-K instead
  • Fire safety circuits (fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke extraction systems, etc.) – use CR1-C1 cable
