Nexans launches innovative factory project in Lens: circular economy at the heart of industrial sovereignty

October 3, 2025Nexans historic site in Lens in Northern France hosted a strategic step for the industrial future of the region: the official launch of a major industrial project. The event, which gathered 70 participants, highlighted the Group's determination to position itself as a key player in the circular economy and decarbonization in Europe.

The afternoon began with a project presentation, followed by the official launch ceremony and a visit to the existing continuous copper casting facility.

Copper recycling: a dual challenge for sovereignty and ecology

Lead by Vincent Dessale, Senior Executive Vice President, Strategic projects and Key accounts at Nexans, the Lens project aligns with national priorities: industrial development, securing strategic metal supplies, and decarbonization.

The event was marked by the presence and commitment of local authorities and government representatives, validating the importance of this initiative for the Hauts-de-France region and the national reindustrialization strategy.
