Powering the next generation of electrification at Nexans Stella Nova

Jun 24, 2026

On 23rd June, Nexans Stella Nova welcomed the CRU delegates ahead of the Wire & Cable Conference in Hanover. 80 delegates had registered and came to visit Nexans brand new innovation and excellence center located in Hanover.

The event gathered industry executives, technical experts, and key stakeholders from various industries, and provided a unique insight into this cutting edge Centre of Excellence driving the next- generation of electrification technologies, from superconducting cable systems to cryogenic transfer lines technologies and forming and welding machines.

On this occasion, Nexans also unveiled its brand new HV/MV (High Voltage / Medium Voltage) testing Lab supporting cables and accessories qualification, project-specific configurations, engineering activity and R&D work. The facility allows for a wide range of testing, for both conventional cable systems (cables, accessories, jumpers, complete configuration) and more advanced technologies such as superconducting systems or sFCL-related validation (Superconducting Fault Current Limiter). This combination is a key asset as it provides Nexans with a facility that supports today’s qualification needs and tomorrow’s electrification technologies.

Yann Duclot
“ Nexans Stella Nova relies on decades of experience and innovation capabilities associated with its industrialisation drive to scale our unique solutions. This Excellence Centre is our driving force for a sustainable future, reflecting our commitment to developing and scaling innovations that power a cleaner, smarter, and more electrified world - dedicated to accelerating electrification and the energy transition ”
Yann Duclot
Nexans Acceleration Units Director

The visit marked a second milestone in the journey of Nexans Acceleration Units, one year after last year’s Grand Opening - driven by innovation and its long standing expertise, reinforcing the commitment toward one main goal: accelerating the energy transition.

An experience that was prolonged during the CRU conference itself as Yann Duclot (Nexans Acceleration Units Director) featured as key speakers during two key sessions around superconductivity, thus sharing how HTS systems have moved from ambition to action—becoming a key lever to scale electrification and future proof our infrastructure.
